Responsible for designing and developing the graphics for the large glass walls of the conference rooms featured in the Education Development Center in Waltham, MA. The challenge was a small budget that required a large scale solution. A half-tone dot pattern was developed from photographs, and multiple legibility tests were done. Simple, understated typography utilized to enhance the power of the images.

Developed as an academic study in rebranding and repacking OSEM Israeli Couscous. Targeted towards first and second generation Israeli-Americans with an emphasis on a younger demographic. Features a die-cut developed as the logo, a pattern based off Hebrew letter forms and simple sans-serif typography that could easily develop into a Hebrew language version. The lid also functions as a measuring cup, which perfectly portions out one serving.

This icon system was developed for an existing institution, the W Hotel chain. The challenge was that the icons needed to be understood internationally, as the hotel has locations around the world. Words were also purposely excluded for that reason, so the illustration would be the only tool of communication. The goal was also to reflect the contemporary yet elegant style of the architecture and interiors of the hotels. This was done through elegant yet simple lines, balancing curved and straight elements to create an updated version of a standard icon system. These icons were also developed to be utilized in multiple medium, such as digital/web, print and environmental.

Developed all of the deliverables for my close friends' wedding. Designed with the couples personality in mind, and created something reflective of that. Most of the text is in a deco-style typeface to have a vintage feel without being outdated. There was a focus on sustainability with this, as the couple is very eco-minded, and all of the paper used is recycled and also consolidated certain deliverables to use less paper (for example, having the RSVP card be a postcard instead of a separate envelope). The reception is outdoors, so the overall tone could not be stuffy or pretentious but still have an elegant element to it.

Study of layout design through print magazine. I created the Savor and Wander magazine to target a younger, more adventurous group of ‘foodies’. The dynamic typography and photography differs from much of the existing print materials on the topic of food. I wanted to use the lines of the photography to dictate the direction of typography, so each cover and layout would be constructed different, depending on the photo. This makes the food or drink the most important element in the layout, even with the strong typography. Covers were inspired by the food magazine Lucky Peach.

Photography series taken of pairs of people in different relationships. A study into how two people behave when they are separated and together, with a focus on the interaction when both present. Featured within the series are pairs representing marriage, siblings, mother and child, and a new couple. Done with 4x5" film photography, and all on location shoots. I wanted to have the subjects be in the environments they were most comfortable and natural in to really be able to reveal the personality and emotion between two individuals.

A study of logotypes, and the expression conveyed through the letterforms. The assignment was to develop a logotype for an existing institution or group. The logotype itself was intending to convey the feminine energy of the Supremes and evoke the look and style of the 1960s in America. The applications were designed to express two different tones for the fictional event of the 50th Anniversary Tribute Concert. The first of the two distinct tones, are somber and nostalgic, with a darker, blue green and more linear, restrained typography. The second is more celebratory, with a brighter, yellowy green and bolder typography. The visual styles for the two were also applied to concert tickets, to show how the identities could apply to multiple deliverables.

Saphris is a medication for schizophrenia and bipolar disorders. The brand overall conveys a tone of control, peace and optimism. This was one of the brands I frequently worked on while at JUICE.
The mobile application was developed and designed for a pharmaceutical advertising convention. It is a way-finding app that was used to direct visitors to the Saphris convention booth. It was important to incorporate both the JUICE Pharma branding materials (i.e. typefaces and color palettes) and the Saphris branding materials, as the booth was representing both at this particular convention.
Developed informational graphs and pages for Saphris.com to supplement information provided in the medication packaging. Because this product is extremely volatile, it is required to have a large section of legal copy on every page where information is accessible. It was frequently a challenge working on this website, since so much information was legally required to be on each page.

Exterior case/cover and interior booklet design for the Kohler Band album "Why You Wake". The Kohler Band is an acoustic blues-rock music duo performing out of Cincinnati, Ohio that are personal friends of mine (Matt Foster & Eric Wheatcraft). The photography was a combination of studio photo sessions and on site/performance shoots. The tone and photo content are meant to mirror the mood of the music on the album. The red motif evokes the studio space in which the band practices, which has red walls and the red door which is depicted on the album cover.

Expressing sequence of time through Best Picture Winners of the Academy Awards. Other levels of information were included, such as world events, box office revenue scaled for inflation, and other awards received. Designed to capture the essence of the Academy Awards through typography and color. Simple icons were designed to represent the other awards received and to visually communicate the massive number of awards given to certain films. This is a very large scale printed piece, sized 39 x 52 inches.
